What is Wood Badge?
Wood Badge is an advanced leadership course originally introduced by Lord Baden-Powell. Since 1948, thousands of Scouters have described it as a “mountaintop experience” in their Scouting journey.
Participants complete two parts:
- The Practical Course – An immersive outdoor leadership experience
- The Application Period – An 18-month leadership action plan known as a “ticket”
Successful completion earns the Wood Badge certificate, neckerchief, woggle, and the internationally recognized two wooden beads
Who May Attend?
Registered adult leaders (18+) in a Pack, Troop, Crew, District, or Council who have completed basic position training by August 1, 2026 are invited to attend.
Every youth deserves a trained leader.
Make 2026 the year you take your leadership to the next level.
